Wednesday Review - Dark Lover (Book Review)
For my first book review I am going to talk about a book called "Dark Lover" and its author J. R. Ward. Dark Lover is the first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series and is a great introduction to J.R Ward's Vampires and their world. Ward is a great writer who brings a new twist to the vampire phenomenon and has a fresh and gripping way of writing and truly brings her characters and world to life.
Dark Lover starts by introducing us to Darius. He is a vampire and a member of The Black Dagger Brotherhood and he has arranged a meeting with Wrath, the Blind King. Wrath is the only purebred vampire left and king of the race. He is also a warrior and feels connected with Darius, which for Wrath is a rare thing.
Darius is meeting with Wrath to ask him a favour. Which isn't a place anyone, including Darius wants to be in. You don't ask the King for favours. But he has no choice, Wrath is his only hope. Darius has a daughter named Elizabeth, and with each passing year Beth gets closer and closer to becoming a vampire. The only problems are one Wrath hates humans, and two Beth doesn't know she's half vampire.
Dark Lover is a great book and it is a great starting point to the whole Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. By the end of this book you will be in love with the characters and you won't be able to stop wondering about just what happens next. Please know that these books are very sexual in nature so they are for a mature audience.
