New Year's Eve Party - Hot Meal (Part 2)
Today is the last day of this series of blogs about meals for parties. Of course, we used New Year's Eve as the reason for our party but mostly anything can follow this say guideline. Today, we are going to look at other things that could make a hot meal more complete.
Other items I would add to a meal would be sliders. Sliders are small burgers or sandwiches that are a few bites and nothing more. It is like a mini version of its original. Most popularly they are associated with burgers. However, they also have different types of sliders like Chicken Parm, Ham and Cheese, Meatball, Philly Cheesesteak, etc.
Next, we have canapes. Canapes are traditionally made on a small circle of bread or toast or cracker even (just one mouthful really). This would be like a Bruschetta (regular or otherwise), or something like that, a Wonton cup (filled with Sausage or Philly Cheesesteak, or Mushroom and such), or mini tarts. These things are just little mouthfuls that would normally be served before the "heavy stuff" like meats on a toothpick or sliders.
And finally for dessert. Dessert for all the meals we have talked about is really simple. YOu can take almost any dessert and make it into a square or bite-sized version. You can make almost anything in mini muffin tins, including small cheesecake bites, brownie bites, etc. If you can not make your dessert in a small cup-like that, you can serve it like other foods. Simply cute your dessert up into small squares and add a toothpick and they are good to go.
