Sunday Cooking - Crabby Mac Salad
This salad is a great winter salad. None of the ingredients are fresh so you can make it in the winter months when maybe your grocery store doesn't carry the best produce or if you grow your own vegetables and don't have the fresh produce on hand this is great for your frozen supply or if you can your vegetables. Of course you can use fresh vegetables but in this case it's not overly necessary. This salad is quick and easy and is a great way to use up food that you already have. Maybe not really a left over make over salad but all you need is things you probably already have at home.
What you will need for this recipe is:
1 Box of Macaroni
1 Package of Crab Meat
1 Can of Peas
1 Can of Corn
1 Bundle of Green Onions
Mayo
Salt and Pepper
The hardest part of this recipe is boiling the macaroni. In a pot of boiling salted water add the amount of macaroni you need (we use 1 box you can use more or less according to your needs or preference). Once the macaroni is cooked, drain, rinse and let cool. (We place the drained and rinsed macaroni in a metal bowl to cool quicker.)
Once the macaroni is cooled, take it out and just throw the rest of the ingredients in. We chop up the crab meat, you can just break it with your hands usually. Make sure to drain the canned vegetables of any juice (you can add other vegetables if you wish), and chop up the green onions. We use three heaping tablespoons of Mayo this will change depending on your preference.
