Recommendation Wednesday - Chef's Plate
Today, we are talking about Chef's Plate! Chef's Plate is a service that offers "fresh" and "simple" food. This company is based in Canada and offers shipping on two different days. The process is very simple. You go to their website, and browse the 8 or so recipes they have to offer for any given week. You can order individual portions (minimum of two) or you can order family portions. You can also choose how many recipes a week you want (minimum of two).
Once you have made your selections and placed your order you wait until the delivery date. (You can also leave instructions for the delivery people to follow; e.i: Leave on back porch.)
What you'll then receive is a box with all the ingredients you need to make the meals you have chosen. Everything comes prepackaged, and sorted by recipe. Meat is individual and kept at the bottom of the box surrounded by ice packs. Each recipe is presented on a recipe page with easy to follow, step by step instructions.
We recommend:
1) Keeping everything together. Gather all items for each recipe and keep them together so that things are easier to work with.
2) Get prepared. Just because they are suppose to be quick and easy meals, doesn't mean the preparation time will be. The time it takes you to prep will really depend on how much experience you have in the kitchen. Though you don't need any experience to enjoy these boxes, if you are experience with a knife, things like chopping will go quicker.
3) Keep in mind what you have ordered. Not all things will keep for one full week. Keep this in mind, fresh produce will not last long so try to use these first. You can also make the meals ahead of time to make sure you enjoy them to the fullest.
