Chain Stitching

This stitch is also sometimes called the chain foundation, this just the starting point. It is very simple to do; you simply start with your slip knot loop, then you yarn over and pull through. You continue doing that until you have reached the number of chains you want or the length that you want. You want to do this as loose as you can because it will set the tone for how tight the next row will be.

The Chain Stitch is how you add stitches in crocheting. In knitting you start by creating stitches on your needle this is the crocheting equivalent. This video is a great way to see it first hand.
