Double Crochet Stitch

The double crochet stitch is the next common stitch in crocheting. It is very simple to do, however, there are some differences of opinion on how it should be built. Neither is wrong it is all about preference.

When doing a double crochet you must remember whether it is working off the chain or starting a new row you need to chain links. This is where the opinion differs. I was taught to chain two and have seen people chain two, however, once I saw a website called for three chains. Either way, it is up to you.
