Mystery Box #1 (Easy)
Today we are sharing our first Mystery Box Challenge. Any fan of Chopped (Cooking Show), or Master Chef (Gordon Ramsey Show), will know what a "Mystery Box" is. And it is pretty straightforward. You have ingredients in a box that you have to use. Sometimes you simply have to use them in your recipe (like we are doing today), and other times you have to take something (like leftovers) and transform them into a new meal.
Today we are starting simple. We have Potatoes and Cheese Curds, and we even have a theme. Today we are going to try and put a new spin on a classic Poutine.
Poutine is a French Canadian dish that includes French Fries, Cheese Curds, and Gravy. But over time, so many variations on Poutine have been tried and tested. Some are real winners and others, not so much. You don't have to reinvent the dish if you don't want to, but try something new!
Some classic variations are an Italian Poutine. This includes French Fries, Cheese Curds, and Spaghetti Sauce! (And now some people even put Deep Fried Cheese Curds!) Another delicious variation is the Parasole Poutine. This takes the regular poutine and adds Ground Beef and Onions. It is very delicious, especially with beef gravy. Another great one is the Smoked Meat Poutine. This they add (Montreal) Smoked Meat to a regular Poutine. And one of my favourites is a Philly Cheese Steak Poutine! This takes Steak, Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms and tops the French Fries with Cheese Sauce!
