The Price of Healthy Eating
It is no secret that eating healthy is expensive! Especially when certain foods are out of season. We all know that eating fruits and vegetables is part of a healthy lifestyle, but they can cost a small fortune depending on where you live and what season it is. One of the mistakes made when shopping for healthy foods is buying from the Deli counter or Salad bar. While we may look at the price and think it is cheaper than buying the individual parts themselves, in honest it most likely is not.
One example is fruit or vegetable trays. These can be very expensive and depending on what you enjoy and what is in season you could most definitely make a tray yourself for much cheaper.
Another great example of this is salads. While buying one salad may be cheap, one must keep in mind that should you buy everything to make a salad, you could have more than one salad, and add whatever you like into them instead of simply one salad with the basics.
This month we are going to go back to the basics and look at multiple different salads that you can easily make at home. This is a great little tool to have when trying to eat healthier because you can make a different salad for every day of the week and add some variety to healthy eating.
